    Army Futures Command

    On Thursday, Army leadership recognized the important contributions of the Army Civilian Corps during a Presidential Rank Awards ceremony held at the Pentagon.

    Among the award recipients were 10 Army Futures Command (AFC) executives and senior professionals who demonstrated exceptional and enduring commitment to service.

    “I have a deep and abiding appreciation for the contributions that civilians make to our workforce,” said Secretary of the Army Hon. Christine E. Wormuth, who hosted and provided opening remarks for the ceremony.

    “Year in and year out, our Department of Army Civilians’ work is an essential part of what makes our Army the greatest land fighting force on Earth,” Wormuth said, highlighting how civilians provide “excellence and continuity along with deep expertise and institutional memory.”

    AFC honorees comprised current and retired personnel from AFC headquarters, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) and The Research and Analysis Center (TRAC) selected for a Presidential Rank Award between fiscal years 2019 and 2022.

    AFC Meritorious Executive awardees included:

    William “Willie” Nelson, AFC Headquarters, 2022 recipient
    John Willison, DEVCOM Headquarters (Ret.), 2021 recipient
    Bradley Pippin, TRAC-Fort Leavenworth (Ret.), 2021 recipient
    Dr. Garrett Lambert, TRAC-White Sands Missile Range, 2021 recipient
    Dr. Jennifer Hitchcock, DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (Ret.), 2019 recipient

    “Our honorees here today have ascended to the highest level of the Department of Army Civilian workforce,” Wormuth said.

    “They are part of a small cadre of leaders who make our Army work, ensuring that we meet our commitment to defend the country and take care of our people.”
