Soldiers from the Headquarters
and Headquarters (HHC) Company,
168th Theater Engineer Brigade
(TEB), participated in Operation
Clean Sweep at Camp Buehring,
Kuwait, on June 10, 2023. Operation
Clean Sweep ensures the safety and
cleanliness of the base and maintains
the proper standard across the entire
perimeter. Cleaniless promotes a
healthy environment for the Soldiers,
DoD civilians, and contractors of
Camp Buehring. Every unit across
Camp Buehring has a designated
area that they're responsible for
keeping up with and maintaining, and
this is overseen by the Base Support
Battalion (BSB).
Operation Clean Sweep was no
different from a normal "Police Call"
during a regular day on a zero or
qualification range. Everyone knows
the procedure for a "Police Call".
Every Soldier gets on line, starting at
the base of the range and going down
the firing line looking for expended
rounds of brass and ammunition.
Operation Clean Sweep was just
that, except no ammunition or brass
was involved. Soldiers split up into
sections by groups and picked up
trash along the Zone 3 area of the
base. Many would be surprised at
how much debris and trash was
accumulated during the operation.
Soldiers came across old, worn tires,
scrapes of paper, empty bottles, and
more during the cleanup.
Camp Buehring has been home
to the 168th TEB for the past three
months, and it's important that
the units and Soldiers housed
here maintain a safe and healthy
environment for all. The 168th TEB
stands ready to keep Camp Buehring
clean and safe!
