SAVANNAH AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ga. - The 165th Airlift Wing is pleased to announce a significant event in its history – the farewell ceremony for the C-130H Hercules aircraft, which has faithfully served the wing for an impressive 41 years. The ceremony is scheduled for August 18th at 0900 hours in the 165th Maintenance Hangar.
The C-130H Hercules has been an essential asset to the wing, playing a pivotal role in numerous missions and operations. Its departure marks a transformative phase for the wing, as it embarks on a journey to become one of the Air National Guard's newest C-130J Super Hercules fleets.
Since the commencement of the conversion process on July 10th, the 165th Airlift Wing has been actively preparing for this transition, showcasing its commitment to modernization and enhanced capabilities.
Media personnel are requested to arrive at the main gate by 0815 hours for event access and coordination.
