CAMP HUMPHREYS, South Korea – U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys Headquarters and Headquarters Company has bid farewell to 1st Sgt. Sean Im and welcomed 1st Sgt. Duran Jesus as the new company first sergeant during a change of responsibility ceremony at the Humphreys Hub on Sept. 1, 2023.
In addition to family members, more than 50 service members and civilians throughout the garrison and partner missions attended the event.
“I would especially like to thank the Garrison Command team past and present,” said Im. “Thank you for your mentorship and always putting me back on azimuth, and your trust and confidence in me with this awesome privilege of leadership.”
Im also thanked each of the garrison directors and directorates.
“I'm truly honored and grateful for this opportunity,” said Im. “I will always cherish the memories of my time here as first sergeant.”
Im welcomed Duran to his new role and expressed confidence in the company’s future under his leadership.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a leader in this great organization,” said Duran. “It is truly a privilege to be here today.”
Duran said that assuming the role of first sergeant would be a challenge, but one he was proud to accept.
“I can tell you now that I'll give 100% every day to be the best garrison HHC first sergeant in all of Camp Humphreys – maybe not ever, but for sure during my tenure as the first sergeant,” Duran joked. “For those who don't know, the odds are fixed in my favor, because I'm the onlv one. But I promise I won't let you down.”
Im will join Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security(DPTMS), U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys, following some well-deserved time off with family.
