FORT DRUM, N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2023) -- Fort Drum family members got into the Halloween spirit Oct. 19 during the Family Advocacy Program’s Spooky Snacks class at the Enrichment Center.
The Fort Drum FAP team provided the instruction, ingredients, and equipment for the group to make three tasty snacks, cleverly disguised with healthy fruits and vegetables. They made pumpkin spice granola cups, taco-stuffed mini sweet pepper mummies, a ghostly chocolate pudding and a monster smoothie.
Young chefs helped mix, chop, and decorate the Halloween treats during the free class, sampling their work along the way and with enough left over to share with everyone at home.
The Fort Drum Family Advocacy Program staff offers a monthly cooking class for families, led by a nutrition educator, at the Soldier and Family Readiness Division’s Enrichment Center on 4th Armored Division Drive.
The next class, scheduled Nov. 16, features Thanksgiving-themed snacks. To register, call (315) 772-5914 or post a message on the FAP Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FtDrumFAP.
