KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-- Pennsylvania National Guard Associations is an organization that works with legislators and policymakers to advocate for National Guard members, Army and Air.
According to, Chad Rettew, Executive Director of PNGAS, they do capitol visits, actively participate in meetings, hearings and discussions with lawmakers in Washington D.C. and Harrisburg. To be effective on a broader scale, engagement with the nation’s and state’s capitol is crucial. The direct contact with the Capitol ensures that Guard members' interests stay relevant in the minds of lawmakers.
“This is what we do here, we advocate for soldiers and airmen for their concerns and needs,” Rettew said.
According to Retired Sgt. 1st Class Kahlil Celotto, a volunteer with PNGAS, the organization has done a lot for him and his family. He continues to volunteer and spreads the word to others about what PNGAS does for not only himself but other service members.
They also represent what contributions Guard members make for their state and country. Their representatives also work on fighting for the needs of Guard members and raise awareness of their concerns in general.
“We try to make things better for you, service members," Rettew said. “Us, it’s us that need to do what we need to do and go and do these things- bills, attend meetings, etcetera.”
