The 111th Communications Flight welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony at Biddle Air National Guard Base in Horsham, Pennsylvania, Nov. 5, 2023.

Pennsylvania Air National Guard Maj. Gordon Beecroft officially assumed command of the 111th Communications Flight from outgoing commander Capt. Adekunle Fodeke with Lt. Col. Brian Silver, Mission Support Group Commander, presiding over the ceremony.

“I have complete confidence that our incoming commander, Maj. Beecroft, will lead this flight to even greater heights,” said Fodeke.

Beecroft, who previously served as 111th Attack Wing Director of Inspections, thanked 111th Attack Wing leadership and Fodeke for the opportunity.

"Capt. Fodeke, thank you for your four years of leadership.’ Said Beecroft. “Four years of caring for our airmen. Four years of getting the mission done, and from what I've seen, building a culture of community and camaraderie. I only hope that I can continue to build on that."

Beecroft spoke on the vital function that information plays into the modern military landscape. Honing in on the prime target information has become for our advisories and strategic competitors.

“Our adversaries do not only seek air superiority, or space superiority, or even cyber superiority but our adversaries have a strategy for information superiority,” Beecroft said. “They want to leverage information for their benefit, and they want to deny, degrade, and disrupt our ability to access and use it.”

Beecroft concluded with key role that the Airmen of the 111th Comm Flight play in ensuring said information.

"Information doesn't flow without a sound infrastructure," said Beecroft. "Realize just how valuable how vital the talent, skills and the abilities of our communicators are to our readiness or lethality and our survivability."
