(FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. Nov. 6, 2023) – U.S. Army Garrison Eisenhower (formerly Gordon) and Balfour Beatty Communities conducted a groundbreaking ceremony here Oct. 31.

This groundbreaking, at the corner of Avenue of the States adjacent to North Range Road, marks the new construction of 76 homes in Pine Tree Terrace, according to Karsten Haake, the Providence Family Homes installation project director and host of the ceremony.

“The Army and Balfour Beatty share a vision to build new homes and communities,” Haake said, “and support our Army partners’ priorities to provide quality housing to our Soldiers and their Families.”

The Pine Tree Terrace home floor plans are designed to be three- and four-bedroom, four-unit townhomes. The total includes four four-bedroom detached ADA compliant accessible homes.

The homes are designated for junior enlisted servicemembers. When complete, there will be 36 three-bedroom units and 40 four-bedroom units. All units come with a garage.

The floor plans were designed with input from both the Fort Eisenhower and Fort Jackson communities, to include additional open/flex space.
Fort Eisenhower leadership in attendance included Robert V. Kazimer, deputy to the Commanding General – U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, Col. Reginald K. Evans, commander, U.S. Army Garrison Eisenhower, and Chuck Parker, Executive Vice President Balfour Beatty Communities.

“On Friday (Oct. 27), the Secretary of the Army (Christine E. Wormuth) mentioned that we need a generational investment in housing,” said Evans. “It’s going to take time, more money, and strong partnerships. Today’s ceremony marks the beginning of a multiyear development plan that the Army and BBC have for modernizing and transforming housing at Fort Eisenhower.”

Vertical construction is scheduled to begin in March 2024, with an expected completion in the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2025.
