    7th Army Training Command

GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — 7th Army Training Command will host faculty and cadets of the British Army’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) Nov. 11-25, 2023 for training exercise Dynamic Victory.

Dynamic Victory allows the staff at RMAS to train and evaluate future British Army officers’ abilities to fight, survive, and lead in tactical operations as a prerequisite to commissioning into the British Army.

Approximately 160 cadets will participate in Dynamic Victory at 7ATC’s Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas.

U.S. Army exercise role players and trainers include the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment and the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, all under the training purview of 7ATC.

A platoon of Slovenian Officer Cadets will also participate in the training exercises to further international and interoperability relations and readiness.

RMAS cadets will participate in training and live fire exercises at GTA and a final training event at HTA, where they will fight against U.S. Army Soldiers in simulated ambushes, patrols, attacks and other situational exercises.

British Army Maj. Ross Catchpole, who serves as RMAS Chief Instructor, highlighted the distinctive aspect of the current variant of Dynamic Victory. According to Catchpole, what sets this iteration apart is the collaboration with their Slovenian counterparts. As part of this collaboration, a platoon of officer cadets from the Slovenian Officer Academy has been deployed.

"The purpose of the exercise is to familiarize our officer cadets with the deployment process they will undertake as young platoon or troop commanders in the Field Force in preparation for combat operations,” said Catchpole. "It gives them the opportunity to conduct force preparation activities, arrive in theater for staging, and then conduct combat readiness training alongside partner forces."

"This really sets the tone for what is to come early in their careers, many of whom will rapidly deploy overseas and conduct combat operations alongside our U.S. comrades in support of a multinational task force," he added.

Joint Multinational Readiness Center, a directorate under 7th Army Training Command, is the Army’s only combat training center outside of the United States. JMRC provides a mobile training capability to Europe that trains leaders, staff members, and units up to brigade combat teams and multinational partners.

Dynamic Victory is the final hurdle that lies between an Officer Cadet and their commissioning as an Army officer from RMAS.
