KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Recognized for his excellent customer service and exceptional performance as a fitness center specialist from the 8th Force Support Squadron, Senior Airman Jose Arcilla was awarded Kunsan Air Base’s Pride of the Pack for the week of Nov. 27 - Dec. 1.
Arcilla recently accomplished the Air Force Service Center’s annual inventory, where he accounted for $450 thousand in fitness equipment.
Additionally, Arcilla was nominated by his leadership for taking on significant responsibilities by managing the special events program and led three major fitness events, directing 15 volunteers while promoting the health of 30 participants. He was praised for consistently delivering excellent customer service to 4,500 base personnel.
“This assignment has pushed what I believed were my limits,” said Arcilla. “I’m really glad I’ve gotten the opportunity to wear many hats and lead individuals in ways I hadn’t before.”
When asked about his favorite part of the job, Arcillia reflected on his experience so far as a member of the Wolf Pack.
“Although ROK-U.S. Friendship Day was a huge challenge, seeing our service members and Korean counterparts have fun and bond, made everything worth it,” said Arcilla.
Arcilla collaborated with multiple wing agencies and 70 volunteers to support 13 sporting events involving 92 teams while helping manage the $30 thousand event that fostered stronger ties between the United States and the Republic of Korea.
Job well done, Senior Airman Arcilla
