Republic of Korea (ROK) nurses and nursing students visit U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Guam to exchange nursing practices, skills and expertise, Nov. 15.
The ROK nursing students interacted with USNH Guam staff by participating in a walk-through of seven nursing skills stations. The nursing skills stations allowed an exchange of nursing practices focused on administering compressions, defibrillation, advanced airway, hemorrhage management, intravenous line priming, urinary catheter insertion and care.
“The ROK nursing leaders and students were exceptionally receptive and pleased with the training,” said Lt. Cmdr. Suzanne Papadakos, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Mother-Baby-Unit, USNH Guam. “Our staff and the students were energized by the connection that they were able to make that day.”
The visit was coordinated by USNH Guam’s nursing team to strengthen relationships and support a health care network within the Asian Pacific Region.
