Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa (June 3, 2024) – Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, regional Allies and partners including France, United Kingdom, Japan, and several U.S. Embassies located across the African continent conducted a planned Crisis Response – Rehearsal of Concept event at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa, on May 31, 2024.
This event’s purpose was to improve awareness of CJTF-HOA’s crisis response planning and procedures to the organization’s Allies and partners to demonstrate the collaborative capabilities and readiness of Allied forces to respond effectively to complex humanitarian crises.
The CR-ROC, led by a diverse coalition of military experts, encompassed comprehensive crisis scenarios focusing on coordination efforts with USAFRICOM and U.S. Embassy personnel. This joint effort emphasized interoperability, rapid deployment, and precise coordination among participating nations.
By integrating the expertise and resources of each partner nation, CJTF-HOA showcased its commitment to its “no fail” mission by enhancing global security and stability.
"Today's rehearsal exemplifies the unwavering dedication of our multinational coalition to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions," stated Major General Brian T. Cashman, commanding general of CJTF-HOA. "Through close collaboration and synchronized efforts, we stand ready to swiftly respond to crises, safeguarding innocent lives and upholding our shared values of peace and security."
The presence of military representation from France, Japan, United Kingdom, and the United States underscored the collective resolve to address emerging threats and challenges in a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape. This combined joint event not only reaffirmed the strength of international partnerships but also highlighted the importance of preparedness and agility in responding to dynamic security scenarios.
As global uncertainties persist, CJTF-HOA remains vigilant and proactive in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the East Africa region. Through events like the CR-ROC, Allied and partner forces continue to hone their capabilities, enhance their readiness, and demonstrate their steadfast solidarity in times of need.
CJTF-HOA conducts operations to enhance partner nation capability, promote regional stability, dissuade conflict, and protect U.S. and coalition interests, primarily in the East Africa region, by, with, and through its Allies and partners. The command is critical to USAFRICOM's efforts to build partner capacity to counter violent extremists and address other regional security partnerships in support of our Djiboutian and East African partners. Headquartered at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, the command works against malign actors to strengthen collective security forces and respond to crises to advance U.S. national interests and promote regional security, stability, and prosperity.
