Fort Carson, Colo. - Maj. Gen. David Doyle, commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, gave his annual State of Fort Carson address June 20, 2024 at Founder’s Field on Fort Carson.

Doyle showcased the numerous achievements the 4th Infantry Division has made over the past 12 months, including clean energy, family housing, and deployment operations.

During the Front Range Summit, the 4th Infantry Division and community leaders met to discuss ways to solve the communities' challenges. As a result, service agreements were established with the city of Colorado Spring, Douglas County, and El Paso County to achieve efficient natural gas, clean energy, and ride shares for Soldiers

In addition, a 2-megawatt flow battery is currently under construction, the largest on any installation across the Department of Defense, and double the number of solar panels on the base.

Doyle also addressed family housing and welfare, mentioning that 14 barracks will be renovated and 56 new units will be built for modernized family housing on the base. Last December, the base also broke ground on the new Abrams Elementary School to move more schools onto the base

“I feel Fort Carson is strong, and I don’t see anything but good for the future.” said Richard Blackaby, president of the 4th Infantry Divison Association, Ivy Chapter, “I’ve always said the sun never sets on the 4th Infantry Division, somewhere around the world, the 4th Infantry Division is out there.’

During the last year, the 4th Infantry Division Headquarters was deployed in Europe to conduct multinational operations with European allies, and the 2nd Striker Brigade Combat Team deployed to Korea to conduct live-fire training to develop and strengthen relations with partners in the Pacific. Currently, the 3rd Armoured Brigade Combat Team is deployed to Germany and Poland to support NATO in Eastern Europe.

“I am continuously grateful for the contributions of the Front Range, the civilians,
the community members, the civic leaders, and the people in our government who provide what we need to be successful.” Said Doyle. “So we’ll continue to maintain momentum as the Army’s marquee multidomain operations division.”
