Soldiers from the 345th Field Hospital and the 301st Field Hospital participated in the inaugural training event for a new Mayo Clinic facility in Jacksonville, Florida. These units from the 332nd Medical Brigade, 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support), experienced the Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) training in a state-of-the-art simulation facility, enabling coaches and trainers to provide tough realistic training and feedback.
The facility has mock operating room, emergency room, intensive care unit and other hospital units, all equipped with viewing rooms and observation cameras, enabling the trainers to observe, record and analyze the performance of these medical professionals under various stressful circumstances.
“The Mayo Clinic, in general, is an outstanding organization, and the fact that they put this kind of environment together here in Jacksonville that we can come, and use is just awesome,” said Brig. Gen. Michael L. Yost, the commander of Army Reserve Medical Command at an April 24 ceremony.
