MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. — Chief Master Sgt. Becky Thomas assumed responsibility as the command chief of the 91st Missile Wing during a ceremony here, July 19.
In her role as the 91st MW command chief, Thomas will serve as the primary advisor to U.S. Air Force Col. James Schlabach, 91st MW commander, on matters concerning readiness, professional growth, health, well-being, discipline, quality of life, and deployment for Airmen assigned to the 91st MW.
“I am so happy to be a part of the Team Minot family and a part of the 91st MW,” said Thomas. “This position and this responsibility is huge.”
Thomas will be representing more than 1,800 personnel assigned to operate, secure, and maintain the 91st MW’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, spread across 8,500 square miles of northwest North Dakota.
“She is the absolute top choice we could have possibly had, and I’m excited for her to be here,” said Schlabach. “All Airmen of the 91st MW are going to benefit from Chief Thomas and the leadership that she’s already demonstrated in the time she’s been here.”
Throughout her career, Thomas has held a variety of developmental positions to include serving as a Noncommissioned Officer Academy professional military education instructor and as a program manager for the Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s Task Force True North program. Most recently, she served as the senior enlisted leader for the 86th Medical Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
“I begged for the opportunity to come and be a part of this team, and I’m committed to leading and taking care of this team,” said Thomas.
