MANILA, Philippines - U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific Civil Military Support Element (CMSE) personnel with U.S. Embassy in the Philippines donated 12 disaster relief generators to three provinces: Batanes, Cagayan, and Palawan, June 28.
The generators will be placed in locations such as emergency operations centers, local airports, emergency broadcast stations and evacuation centers to serve as backup power for critical life sustaining services during natural disasters.
During the donation ceremony, Batanes Provincial Governor Mailou H. Cayco acknowledged how the generators will strengthen the resiliency and preparedness of her province to effectively respond to crisis situations.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the U.S. Embassy for their unwavering commitment and support to our province and for their dedication to fostering strong ties between our nations,” said Gov. Cayco.
The process to deliver 12 generators took months of collaborative coordination between the CMSE and multiple government units across the Philippines.
“My team witnessed the dedication of the Filipino people to create a safer and more prosperous Philippines,” said Capt. Mathew Goldstein, Civil Military Support Element team lead. “We are honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our ally and partner to ensure a sustainable future.”
