BOLESLAWIEC– U.S. and Polish Soldiers faced a grueling 36-hour Spur Ride event led by the 1st Cavalry Division, testing their ability to perform key cavalry tasks, including reconnaissance, security operations, and physical endurance.
Participants were required to gather intelligence, provide early warning during security missions, and react to simulated combat scenarios. The event was designed to evaluate both individual skills and team cohesion, essential to cavalry operations.
The Spur Ride builds leadership, teamwork, and competence in cavalry skills. Soldiers who complete the event earn silver spurs, symbolizing their induction into the Order of the Spur. Those who have served in combat with a cavalry unit can earn gold spurs, signifying their combat service.
