Staff Sgt. Jawanza Mitchell, 8th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron dental laboratory technician, has been selected as the 8th Fighter Wing’s ‘Pride of the Pack’ for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 1.
Mitchell has overhauled all department operations by creating four standard operating procedures that improved dental fabrication completion time by 35 percent. In under two weeks, Mitchell crafted a new tracking method for the current caseload, increasing lab patient satisfaction to 97 percent.
He drove dental logistics for two elements during the end of the fiscal year, ordering 56 critical line items and capturing 299 patient encounters. His efforts ensured the dental clinic surpassed the 2023 fiscal year annual revenue by more than $200,000.
“One of my goals is to continue my education, while my main goal is to foster an environment of cohesion and leave my work section a better place for future Wolf Pack members,” said Mitchell.
Mitchell’s dedication to the mission is a direct reflection to the 8th Medical Group’s mission statement of “Devoted to optimizing Wolf Pack medical readiness in preparation of follow-on forces.”
