The 310th Space Wing held induction ceremonies for newly promoted staff and master sergeants on Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, Nov. 2, 2024.
The noncomissioned officer (NCO) and senior NCO Induction ceremonies recognize the dedication and effort of the Airmen in becoming exceptionally proficient in the technical aspects of their career fields, in addition to developing as mentors and leaders.
The ceremonies also serve as a reminder that these NCOs and SNCOs have transitioned to greater leadership roles with expanded responsibilities and heightened expectations.
NCOs are responsible for leading, training and supervising junior enlisted personnel in their respective career fields. NCOs are also responsible for managing resources, coordinating operations, and ensuring that their teams are trained and ready to perform their duties effectively.
While senior NCOs are expected to be capable of performing all the responsibilities of an NCO, they are also charged serving as mentors and advisors to commanders and other senior leaders, providing valuable insight and recommendations based on their years of experience and expertise.
Col. Samantha Pitman, the 310th Space Wing deputy commander, spoke at the events, emphasizing the responsibility of preparing our Airmen to be capable, resilient and adaptable.
"You are now responsible for ensuring our mission and Airmen are prepared to face an unknown future," said Pitman. "I charge you to invest in our young leaders, enlisted and officer alike. You are now the leaders that must dig in and ensure we are ready for the future."
