    36th Wing

U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Case Cunningham, Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region,
Alaskan Command and Eleventh Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Heath Tempel,
Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region and Alaskan Command senior
enlisted leader, and Eleventh Air Force command chief, visited the Airmen of the 36th Wing
stationed on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Oct. 31 - Nov. 1, 2024.

Cunningham and Tempel met with key leaders and Airmen around the installation, who
provided them insight into the capabilities that Team Andersen provides to the mission within the Indo-Pacific region. They identified the current challenges, opportunities and successes that the command is encountering and explored ways to help engage and integrate resilient solutions.

“Team Andersen has shown great resolve since Typhoon Marwar damaged multiple facilities on base,” said Cunningham. “I have no doubt that the Andersen team has the proficiency necessary to deter adversary aggression and overcome any threats we face”.

During the visit Cunningham and Tempel toured the 36th Communication Squadron, 36th
Security Forces Squadron, 36th Civil Engineering Squadron, 36th Medical Group, 36th Logistics Squadron, and the War Reserve Materiel. They also took time to recognize Airmen in
    Andersen operations.

“I came right on the heels of Typhoon Marwar, and I saw what it did to this installation,” said
Tempel. “So, over the last several months, to be able to see how these Airmen and this
installation have stood up, shook the dust off their shoulders from that, and continued to hold a
a steady gaze towards our pacing threat is an incredible source of pride for me.”

Eleventh Air Force is responsible for the readiness, training and equipping Airmen throughout the Pacific and Alaska. The 36th Wing provides employment, deployment reception and throughput of US-based forces a platform in the Asia-Pacific Region to execute the pacing Operations Plan.
