Col. Gabe Pryor, the commander of the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in Oklahoma, delivered a moving speech on Veterans Day during a luncheon.

The gathering took place at the Scottish Rite Temple, a venue steeped in historical importance, where the annual luncheon is held to honor the courageous individuals who have served our nation.

The luncheon united Veterans from the surrounding area, along with their families and local leaders, creating a space for reflection and fellowship. The event included a heartfelt tribute to those who have fallen in the line of duty, as well as recognition of Veterans who continue to serve in different capacities within their communities.

In his address, Pryor emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by Veterans, acknowledging the challenges they have faced both in and out of service. He spoke of the lasting impact Veterans have on communities, and the invaluable contributions they continue to make after their military service has ended.

“As we remember all of our Veterans, we must also recognize the families who stand behind them. Their quiet strength and enduring support make it possible for our service members to do their jobs, often under challenging circumstances,” Pryor said. “To those families here today, we are grateful for all you have given in support of your loved ones and to our nation.”

Veterans Day is a time to honor and pay tribute to the sacrifices made by the courageous men and women who have served in our armed forces. With around 19 million Veterans residing in our communities today, individuals are consistently motivated by their dedication, bravery, and unwavering commitment.

“As we gather today, it reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy come at a great cost. Our Veterans have faced hardships, uncertainty, and danger so that we can live in peace and security,” Pryor said. “To all of the Veterans here with us, let me say this, your sacrifices and services are not forgotten. Today we honor you, we thank you, and we are committed to ensuring the future generations understand the debt we owe you.”
