BALTIMORE — Soldiers from the 75th Innovation Command's Support Group faced off against Sailors from the U.S. Navy Reserve Center-Baltimore in a flag football game December 13, 2024, a day before the annual Army-Navy football rivalry showdown.
The friendly competition, held at Latrobe Park, fostered camaraderie and inter-service collaboration. Navy Cmdr. Ernest Jessup hosted the Army unit at the park and later at the Navy Reserve Center for tours.
The game followed NFL Flag Football rules in a coed 5-on-5 format, with participants wearing their service physical training uniforms. The event showcased the opportunity for Reserve units to build bonds and share experiences, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and mutual respect.
After the game, participants and spectators enjoyed photos, lunch at the Navy Reserve Center, and tours of the facility and Fort McHenry.
"This game was more than just a friendly competition," said Col. Nicholas Dille, commander of the 75th Innovation Command's Support Group. "It was an opportunity to highlight the incredible teamwork and camaraderie that define our reserve components. Events like this bring our Soldiers and Sailors together, reinforcing the bonds that make us stronger as a joint force. The takeaway here is simple: whether on the field or in the field, collaboration and mutual respect are key to mission success."
