NAVAL AIR STATION SIGONELLA, Sicily (Jan. 31, 2025) - Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Kody DuBois, 24, from Mitchell, Indiana, has proudly served on Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella’s Navy Security Forces (NSF) team since 2021.
“MA2 DuBois is my go-to second class,” said Master-at-Arms 1st Class Patrick Edwards, watch commander, NAS Sigonella. “He is an unreplaceable member of our team. He arrives to work early with a positive attitude, is ready to train, promotes a positive work environment and has a relentless drive to produce the best work.”
DuBois joined the Navy Feb. 17, 2021, to travel the world and learn new skills. NAS Sigonella is his first duty station and he currently serves as the NSF acting field training officer. DuBois takes great pride in ensuring his team is properly trained and ready for any situation.
“I show up for work around 0400,” said DuBois. “I ensure my squad is armed and ready for the day’s tasks, and throughout the day I train and mentor the Sailors put under my charge.”
For DuBois, serving means putting others before himself and taking care of the Sailors to his left and right. He is dedicated to helping his shipmates achieve their goals.
“MA2 DuBois’ time here will be sadly coming to an end in the coming months, but it brings me pleasure knowing he will further the Navy’s goals and core values at his next command,” said Edwards.
DuBois credits the experiences he has had and the people he has met in the Navy with shaping him into the man he is today.
“The experiences and different walks of life I’ve encountered while in [the Navy] have truly helped with my personal growth,” said DuBois.
DuBois considers his advancement to E5 to be his biggest career achievement so far, and his marriage with his wife Katelyn to be his biggest personal achievement. When DuBois isn’t at work, he is either
spending time with Katelyn, working on his associate’s degree or playing video games.
NAS Sigonella provides consolidated operational, command and control, administrative, and advanced logistical support to U.S. and NATO forces. The installation’s strategic location enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required, ensuring security and stability throughout Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
