ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – Nearly 1,000 Air Force Reservists will put their readiness to the test at Exercise Nexus Forge – a large-scale Expeditionary Air Base certification event – in February.
The exercise, slated for Feb. 1 through 14, will bring together Citizen Airmen from all three of the Reserve’s numbered Air Forces and is designed to prepare them for a future deployment under the Air Force’s Force Generation construct.
Nexus Forge was designed to demonstrate the readiness and skill development of Reserve Citizen Airmen in Agile Combat Employment. The exercise focuses on increasing interoperability among U.S. and allied forces in the Pacific theater, furthering efforts to secure a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
Nexus Forge will take place at locations across Hawaii, Guam and Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, and will test how well Reservists can operate with military members from other U.S. services, members of other government agencies and international partners.
“Nexus Forge is a large-scale exercise that will certify and prepare our Reserve units and forces to deploy and operate in contested environments or wherever the Air Force needs us,” said Lt. Gen. John P. Healy, chief of the Air Force Reserve and commander of Air Force Reserve Command. “This exercise is particularly important because it is a culmination event that will be executed across multiple theaters, multiple domains and across the joint spectrum including members from the Army and Marines as well as with forces from Canada.”
In addition to the 850 Reservists and 80 certifiers set to take part in Nexus Forge, several Reserve aircraft, including C-17s, KC-135s, KC-46s and C-130s, will participate in the exercise. Aircraft will conduct flight operations out of Barbers Point and Wheeler Airfields in Hawaii, while ground elements will operate from Schoefield Barracks, Barbers Point, Wheeler, Dillingham and Bellows in Hawaii, and Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Additionally, specific Nexus Forge assets and event timing will nest with the U.S. Air Force Weapon Center’s Exercise Bamboo Eagle and Sentry Aloha.
As part of the exercise, distinguished visitor days are scheduled for Feb. 10-12 in Hawaii. A list of Air Force Reserve leadership who will be available for telephone interviews with members of the media will be sent out on or around Feb. 7. To request an interview, e-mail HQAFRC.PAO.Operations@us.af.mil with your contact information.
Once the exercise kicks off, members of the media can go here to find Nexus Forge products on the DVIDS Nexus Forge 2025 feature page.
