FORT DRUM, New York – The 10th Mountain Division continues efforts to promote the health and well-being of its Soldiers while maintaining a focus on Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F), which encompasses not only the physical aspect of health, but also the mental, sleep, spiritual and nutritional aspects that keep Soldiers in the fight. The 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (LI), culinary specialists are doing their part to support H2F by offering the Culinary Outpost Kiosk focused on grab-n-go for Soldiers.
This food service option, which specializes in providing 10th Mountain Soldiers with a high-energy prepackaged meal designed to sustain Soldiers in austere conditions, opened February 18, 2025, at the Muleskinner Warrior Restaurant.
Sgt. 1st Class Jorgbor Jorgbor, assigned to the 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade, believes that this is an important and effective way to bring Soldiers a nutritious meal that will enhance not only their well-being, but help to improve their performance and boost morale.
“It is exciting to note that the Kiosk presents an alternative to fast food for service members,” Jorgbor said. “This initiative promotes healthier eating habits and fosters a sense of community among Soldiers.”
The 10th Mountain Division (LI) remained committed to advancing Soldier health and fitness, which was evident when the Culinary Outpost Kiosk was under development. The kiosk design aligns with the feeding concepts of the Army Food Modernization Program to meet the needs of Soldiers.
By providing alternatives to less healthy food choices, the kiosk encourages Soldiers to make better decisions about their diets, ultimately contributing to improved health, energy levels, and overall well-being.
Fort Drum has two kiosks on the installation, including the 1st Brigade Combat Team Culinary Outpost Kiosk that provides fresh fruit, foods, and beverages that are meant to meet Soldiers nutritional needs.
The kiosk is designed with speed in mind to allow visiting Soldiers the opportunity to refuel efficiently by having accessible high-quality options in front of them before needing to return to their duties.
“Our goal is to be the premier kiosk on post,” Jorgbor said. “We are dedicated to exceptional service and a diverse menu that meets the needs of our troops.”
The Culinary Outpost Kiosk allows Soldiers to stop in during the week from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on the weekends and holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
