Maj. Carlos A. Rocha accepted command of the 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron during an assumption of command ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas , March 1, 2025.

Col. Thomas F. Albrecht, 433rd Maintenance Group commander, presided over the ceremony and presented the 433rd AMXS guidon to Rocha.

“I’m thrilled to be making Maj. Rocha the AMXS squadron commander today,” said Albrecht. “I know he brings a vast vault of knowledge to the team and will not be afraid to learn from each of you as he takes AMXS to a new level in readiness and lethality.”

During the ceremony, Rocha spoke to the members of the 433rd AMXS on leadership.

“Leadership is an art, so kind of like a painter, we all have our tools that we gain along the way,” said Rocha. “Gaining all these skills through technical instruction and experience... eventually you can paint a picture which is a part of a bigger picture, which is the group's vision or the wing's vision, so we all contribute to something bigger.”

Rocha closed out his speech by highlighting the importance of Airmen.

“You take care of people, and they will take care of the mission. It’s that simple.”

The 433rd AMXS mission is to perform equipment maintenance support to upkeep the mission readiness of eight assigned C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft, enabling the fleet to meet aircrew training requirements and strategic airlift missions.
