U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Jennifer Sosa, a postal chief and inspector assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, serves a vital role in providing reliable, timely mail services; overseeing all mail rooms across the installation; and acting as a liaison between the Military Postal office and United States Postal Service.
Sosa also has two secondary Military Occupational Specialties as a Marksmanship Trainer and Black Belt Martial arts instructor, enabling her to assist Marines in maintaining mission readiness, in and out of the office.
While Marines are processing mail for safe distribution, Sosa conducts quarterly and annual inspections on all unit mail rooms, ensuring mail clerks do not lose or delay packages. This way Marines receive their mail how its initially sent and in a timely manner.
Ultimately, MCAS Cherry Point’s postal services creates a bridge of support, ensuring the processing of mail is met with the same level of care throughout its travel to recipients.
“We provide morale whether Marines are deployed or in garrison,” Sosa said. “We bring home to them.”
