JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii – Senior logistics leaders from Headquarters Air Force Directorate of Logistics, alongside representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps, Army, Navy, and the Royal Australian Air Force, convened for the Air Senior National Representatives Logistics Working Group from Feb. 24 - 26. The annual forum provided a platform for allied forces to enhance logistics interoperability, discuss emerging challenges, and develop strategies to sustain airpower across the Pacific.

Throughout the three-day event, participants engaged in discussions on key logistics priorities, including joint sustainment, advancing theater setting, and gaining decision advantage in contested environments. The forum also explored airpower strategies, multinational cooperation, and supply chain resilience to ensure mission effectiveness.

The event opened with remarks from the Royal Australian Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Carl Newman, Deputy Commander of Pacific Air Forces, emphasizing the importance of information-sharing and preparedness in the Pacific. Brig. Gen. Michael J. Zuhlsdorf, Director of Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, reinforced the significance of strengthening relationships and logistics capabilities to maintain readiness.

"The ASNR forum is a fantastic way for us to partner with another ally who shares the same common ground and values as the United States," said Zuhlsdorf. "This particular forum is an opportunity for our countries to come together and look at logistics from a strategic perspective—working through policies, planning power projection platforms, and enhancing interoperability across the Indo-Pacific."

Senior leaders in attendance included, Kim Brown, Deputy Director of Air Force Logistics, and Air Commodore Sandy Turner, RAAF Director General Logistics, who highlighted the significance of cooperation and resource-sharing among allied forces. Their insights shaped discussions on sustaining logistics operations and enhancing multinational coordination.

"This forum helps by recognizing that we have common goals," said Brown. "We know that we face the tyranny of distance in the Indo-Pacific, but we also have trusted partners like Australia. Understanding these common goals allows us to work together, whether in prepositioning, storage, or logistics posturing, to ensure regional security for both of our nations."

As the forum unfolded, participants emphasized the need for decision advantage and operational agility in future conflicts. The ability to quickly assess situations and coordinate responses remains crucial in a dynamic geopolitical landscape.

"This year, as an ASNR logistics working group, we are discussing many interoperability actions to ensure we’re prepared for whatever the next fight may be," said Margaret Sleeper, Technical Director, Air Force Logistics. "We’ve focused heavily on decision advantage and theater-setting actions, including F-35 interoperability and munitions sustainment."

The forum concluded with participants outlining action plans to implement the strategies discussed throughout the event. The ASNR Logistics Working Group reinforced the joint services’ commitment to maintaining a strong, agile, and unified logistics network to support airpower and readiness in the Pacific and Indo-Pacific regions.

As senior logistics leaders continue to strengthen multinational cooperation and sustain airpower in the region, the strategies and partnerships forged during this forum will be critical in shaping future operational readiness—ensuring that the joint force remains agile, resilient, and prepared for emerging challenges.
