WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Captain Nicholas Forsythe from the 13th Bomb Squadron, has been named the Air Force's Aircrew Flight Equipment Officer of the Year. The prestigious award recognizes the top officer dedicated to the critical field of ensuring the safety and functionality of equipment used by aircrews.
Stationed at Whiteman AFB, home of the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, Capt. Forsythe stood out for his leadership in managing the complex and demanding needs of the 509th's unique mission set. His citation highlighted not only his technical expertise, but also his proactive approach to improving processes and fostering teamwork within his unit.
"Capt. Forsythe's dedication to the mission and his people is evident in everything he does," said Lt. Col. Patrick Yanez, 13th Bomb Squadron Commander. "He understands that our aircrews rely on his team's expertise, and he instills that same commitment to excellence in everyone around him. We're incredibly proud to see his hard work recognized at this level."
