JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas (March 10, 2025) – Col. Christopher Stucky was presented with the 2025 AMSUS Military Nursing Award at the Society of Federal Healthcare Professionals (known as AMSUS). The Awards were presented at the AMSUS annual meeting on March 3, 2025, in Washington, DC. Col. Stucky received the nursing award in “recognition of distinguished leadership, exceptional professionalism, and dedication to the mission of advancing federal healthcare.”
COL Stucky is described as a “brilliant nurse scientist and a master clinician” whose perioperative program of research, executive leadership, and volunteer service to specialty nursing organizations is well respected.
COL Stucky serves in several senior nursing roles, including Chief of the Center for Nursing Science and Clinical Inquiry, Vice President of the CCI Research Foundation, and Perioperative Consultant to the Army Surgeon General. His professional impact focuses on service to the nursing profession through research, leadership, and advocacy to improve clinical outcomes and advance military nursing science.
COL Stucky's capacity to lead research teams and productivity as a nurse scientist is unmatched in the nurse scientist community. Col. Stucky has created a diverse and complex research portfolio of 18 federal and civilian-funded research studies.
A prolific author, COL Stucky published 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the past 18 months, an extraordinary accomplishment for an Army Nurse. His extensive publication record includes over 50 articles with more than 450 citations. As a highly sought after lecturer, he has presented 85 poster and podium presentations at 33 scientific conferences worldwide.
COL Stucky is a highly skilled educator and mentor who is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others and a great credit to Army Medicine.
The AMSUS Awards presented are open to any healthcare professional from the DoD, Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, US Public Health Service, and the Uniformed Services University.
