    WASHINGTON, DC (Mar. 10, 2025) – On March 3, 2025, Army Maj. Travis Kaufman received the Andrew Craige Allied Health Professional Award in “recognition of distinguished leadership, exceptional professionalism, and dedication to the mission of advancing federal healthcare.” The Craige Award, given by The Society of Federal Health Professionals (also called AMSUS), recognizes the leadership and sustained excellence of federal allied healthcare professionals in transforming their practice to optimize treatment safely, effectively, and cost-effectively. The awards were presented at the AMSUS annual meeting.

    This award recognizes allied health professionals within the federal healthcare system who demonstrate exceptional leadership and impact on patient outcomes through their contributions to healthcare delivery.

    The award emphasizes the importance of allied healthcare professionals working collaboratively with other providers to improve patient care, ensuring it is safe, effective, and efficient. It also promotes recognition and awareness of the critical role of federal allied healthcare professionals in delivering quality care.

    The award is open to licensed healthcare providers in various allied health professions, including pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and others.

    The AMSUS Awards are open to any healthcare professional from the DoD, Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, US Public Health Service, and the Uniformed Services University.
