Dupont, Wash. – Band members from America’s First Corps along with Soldiers from the 62nd Medical Brigade Color Guard performed for veterans, first responders, and their families at Pioneer Middle School for Washington State Patriotic Day in DuPont, Washington, March 22, 2025.
The event featured a massing of the colors, a time-honored tradition where more than 50 flag units from veteran organizations, active duty, National Guard units, first responders, civic and youth groups, and Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps programs marched into the gymnasium, carrying their respective flags alongside the American flag.
In support of the event, Bandsmen from America’s First Corps played music for attendees while Soldiers from the 62nd Medical Brigade performed Color Guard duties, presenting the nation’s colors. JROTC Color Guard teams from various high schools also participated, showcasing the discipline and dedication of future military leaders.
“Honoring veterans is important because it reminds us of the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy today," said Zedee Dahn, a patient administration specialist from the 62nd Medical Brigade. “The color guard plays a vital role in upholding military tradition and showing respect during ceremonies. It’s a symbol of pride, discipline, and unity.”
Washington State Patriotic Day continues to serve as a meaningful event, fostering appreciation for the service and sacrifice of military personnel, first responders, and their families, while strengthening ties between the community and those who protect it.
