    CAMP PENDLETON - NAVFAC Southwest Facilities Engineering Acquisitions Division Camp Pendleton hosted their Spring Safety Conference, March 27 at the Pacific Views Event Center.
    The Safety Conference was an opportunity for the government and contracting communities to gather, share best practices, and discuss lessons learned to reinvigorate the collective desire for safe, quality construction supporting Marines, Sailors, and their families in Camp Pendleton.
    Dr. Ossama Boulos from Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton spoke on Noise-Induced hearing loss and the importance of proper PPE.
    AIS Construction’s Nick Shawkey and Kevin Soares presented on Heavy Equipment safety and potential dangers of failure to operate safely.
    AK Electrical's Jeff Geer and Mike Harrington reviewed the importance of electrical safety.
    MZT Construction’s Lisa Hale & Hubert Kang spoke on the importance of general housekeeping in minimizing risk to projects.
    Harper Construction's John Stickney and Michael Castillo shared lessons learned about working around troops and in environmentally sensitive areas.
    The next safety conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025 and is open to contractors, subcontractors, and government personnel.
