The 340th Flying Training Group inspection team conducted its annual natural disaster response exercise at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, to complement JBSA's NDREs on Mar. 27, 2025, consisting of exercise weather messages and scenarios from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Staff personnel from 340th FTG headquarters and 487th Training Squadron were participants in the NDRE.

“The purpose of the exercise was to test the mass warning and notification system verifying if personnel are receiving exercise warnings and notifications and to evaluate the 340 FTG’s control center operations, facility emergency action plan, and emergency response checklists,” said Shane MacDonald, 340th FTG Emergency Manager. “The intent for this exercise is always to evaluate our personnel’s ability to properly respond during severe weather.”

Since the exercise was conducted internally only, the 502nd Air Base Wing Command Post assisted by providing the AtHoc exercise messages and alerts.
