FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. — Laughter, cheers, and a whole lot of fun filled the air as service members and their families came together to enjoy activities at Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation’s Outdoor Recreation’s Kids Fun Day April 2.
A total of 41 children came out and participated in the two-hour event which featured outdoor games, inflatable bounce houses, archery, and a rock-climbing wall.
“Kids Fun Day provides a safe environment where military children can feel celebrated and appreciated,” Outdoor Recreation Facility Operator Marissa Taboada.
This quarter’s Kids Fun Day took place during Month of the Military Child which aims to recognize the sacrifices and resilience of military children, who often face unique challenges due to the nature of military life.
“We want to honor our military children for their strength and adaptability,” said Outdoor Recreation Specialist Supervisor Stephanie DeSanno. “This day is about providing a space for fun and relaxation, where kids can enjoy themselves while feeling supported by their military family and the community.”
FMWR’s Outdoor Recreation hosts Kids Fun Day every quarter to allow service members and their families a day of fun filled activities.
"Every event that we hold would not be possible without our amazing team and volunteers," DeSanno said.
