A U.S. Space Force Guardian assigned under Space Operations Command earned the title of Miss Colorado for America Strong April 5 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.
Capt. Jessica Keller earned her crown in the competition, marking the first time a U.S. Space Force Guardian has been awarded the honor.
She will go on to compete at the national level for the title of Miss America Strong 2025. The national competition will be held in August in Las Vegas.
Keller has been in the military for six years and has served in various space operations leadership roles at both Buckley and Schriever Space Force Bases. She entered the Air Force in January 2019 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Keller aims to inspire youth to not be intimidated by military service, she said. "Serving my country means a lot to me, and I want to show others that you can have your autonomy, drive ideas and innovation, and proudly serve your country all at once."
Her plans for her year with the Miss Colorado for America Strong title include numerous community engagements, public speaking opportunities, and inspiring children to find confidence and pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career fields.
