    BAGHDAD – United States Forces-Iraq Deputy commanding general for operations and III Corps commander addressed III Corps soldiers during a town hall meeting Aug. 6, at Hope Chapel, Camp Victory, Iraq.

    Lt. Gen. Bob Cone spoke to the troops informing them of recent progress made by U.S. Forces. And how those successes were made possible by the support III Corps soldiers provided since they took over operations last March.

    Cone reminded the soldiers that their part in keeping the headquarters running and that is what drives the operational mission forward.

    Staff Sgt. Veronica Hernandez from San Antonio, Texas, S3 admin NCO Headquarters Support Company, III Corps, said it was good to hear that her and her soldiers are actually making a difference and that made her proud to serve her part in operations.

    It meant a lot to the Fort Hood soldiers, having their commander personally take the time to talk to them, said Spc. Stephen Jackson night shift S-3 admin clerk from Greenville, S.C., with Headquarters Support Company III Corps Special Troops Battalion.

    “He could have just sent an aid down to speak for him, but he actually took the time out of his busy day to come down and talk to us,” said Jackson
    Cone said that he was the one that was proud to be a part of the III Corps was mission and what has been accomplished in Iraq.

    “Hands down, in every category, this is the most effective organization I have been a part of,” he said.
