MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Highlighting Cherry Point's warriors.
What’s your job?
I am a Navy diver for Aircraft Survival Training Center. We train aircrew and pilots to safely escape from aircraft if they crash in the water.
What’s your favorite part?
I like working one on one with students in the water. I love being in the water and watching students grow more comfortable in the water.
What’s the most challenging part?
When you love to do something, it comes to you with ease, so there really is no challenging part to my job.
How does your job support the mission of 2nd MAW and MCAS Cherry Point?
We support the wing by teaching people how to be comfortable with their gear in the water and how to safely escape from downed aircraft via water landing.
How does your job in garrison differ from your job in the field?
As a Navy diver, I would perform underwater repairs on naval vessels and salvage operations on planes, ships and anything lost at sea.
