MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Highlighting Cherry Point's warriors.
Q: What’s your job?
A: I’m a block coach. I’m in charge of four coaches and 60 shooters every week. I relay commands to the tower.
Q: What’s your favorite part?
A: I get to teach people every day and I’m around guns. I love guns.
Q: What’s the most challenging part?
A: The most challenging part is getting frustrated when someone doesn’t catch on. I have to recognize my shortcomings as a teacher. Also I must wake up at hours that should not exist on the clock.
Q: How does your job support the mission of 2nd MAW and MCAS Cherry Point?
A: Every Marine has to shoot every year or they can’t deploy. We do our part to keep them mission capable.
Q: How does your job in garrison differ from your job in the field?
A: Sometimes I coach foreign nationals overseas. There's a language barrier, and they sometimes can't grasp the concepts.
