FOB KALSU, Iraq - The 988th Military Police Company, Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, delivered new forensic equipment March 25 to the Iraqi Criminal Investigative Service crime lab located inside the Iraqi Police Headquarters of Al Hillah.
The new equipment provides the Iraqi police the ability to process forensic evidence collected at crime scenes to track down terrorists and criminals responsible for the crimes.
"This is another step in making the Iraqi Police independent," said Cpt. Steven Devitt, 988th MP Co., STB, 2nd BCT. "This equipment will enable the IP's to be more proactive when engaging terrorists."
In addition to the forensic equipment, the 988th MP Co. shipped furniture and office supplies to help the lab become operational.
"This new equipment will be very helpful in finding terrorists," said Cpt. Muthana, Iraqi police officer.
