    US Army medics treat Afghan stabbing victim

    FARAH, Afghanistan – U.S. Army medics from the Farah Forward Surgical Team treated a local Afghan citizen who was injured in Korgy village in the vicinity of Farah City during a stabbing attack, Nov. 10.

    In order to receive further surgical care, the victim was transferred from Farah City Hospital to Forward Operating Base Farah, where the FST medics performed life-saving surgery and stabilized the patient, who suffered from more than 15 stab wounds, a slashed throat and a punctured liver and abdomen.

    Following hours of surgery, the patient was medically evacuated by a U.S. Air Force aircraft to Camp Dwyer in Helmand province to undergo further intensive care.
