IRAQ - NATO Training Mission - Iraq and Iraq’s Joint Staff and Command College held the first Methods of Instruction course Oct. 11-Nov. 4, turning 15 Iraqi officers into a new generation of instructors.
The month-long “train-the-trainer” course has two parts. The first part provides fundamental instructor skills, such as teaching techniques and Power point presentations. The second half of the training develops students’ expertise in various subject matters.
“The students in the course have already proven to be capable, motivated and talented,” said Lt. Col. Corrado Nastasi, NTM-I mentor.
The JSCC/NTM-I Methods of Instruction Course also demonstrates the close working relationship that NATO has developed with the Iraqi JSCC.
In the near future, according to the Iraqi Self-Sustainability Program, this course will be taught only by JSCC instructors.
