FOB PROSPERITY, Iraq " Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, took time out of their busy schedules to gather together and celebrate Easter here April 14-16.
The Soldiers participated in a variety of Easter-related activities, to include religious services, an Easter prize raffle and a traditional Easter dinner provided by the Gulf Catering Company at the King Cobra Dining Facility.
Col. Michael Beech, commander, 4th BCT, 4th Inf. Div., took advantage of an opportunity during Sunday's Easter Sunrise Service at the FOB Prosperity Chapel to thank Soldiers for their service and commended them on the job they are doing in Iraq.
"I want to use this time to thank each and every one of you for what you are doing here," he said to the crowd of Soldiers attending the service.
"Here in Iraq, it's important that we take care of our fitness. Here in Iraq, it's easy to work 20 hours-a-day, but what I want to emphasize to you here today, is the importance of staying spiritually fit," he said. "Easter is a great time to do this."
Capt. William Horton, chaplain, 4th BCT, said he was happy to see Soldiers come together to celebrate the joyous occasion and reiterated the importance of maintaining a balance in life while serving in Iraq.
