CONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE ADDER, Iraq — Soldiers with the 565th Quartermaster Company, 110th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 224th Sustainment Brigade, 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), gathered to conduct their patching ceremony recently at the post chapel at Contingency Operating Base Adder, Iraq.
It was a big event for the soldiers with the 565th QM Co., as the combat patch signifies a deployment milestone of at least 30 consecutive days. First Lt. Grant Workman, a platoon leader with the 565th QM Co., and a Chicago native, said, “It feels good to finally have the patch; it has been something we have been waiting for since we arrived in country.”
Lt. Col. David Scheideler, commander of the 110th CSSB, and a Beatrice, Neb., native, presided over the ceremony and patched the soldiers, and handed out certificates to each of them.
“It’s good to finally get this,” said Spc. Jeffrey Mock, a storage clerk and warehouse worker with the 565th QM Co., and a Las Vegas native. “We have been waiting a long time.”
Once the ceremony was complete, it was business as usual for the soldiers as they returned to their place of duty.
