CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – The Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. George W. Casey, Jr. visited Third Army service members at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Dec. 24.
Casey addressed the hundreds of service members in attendance and thanked them and their families for their continued sacrifices while serving in Third Army.
Casey lauded the efforts and professionalism of Third Army soldiers and supporting organizations for executing their missions efficiently and effectively in a manner that will benefit the long-term health of the Army.
“I want to thank the men and women of Third Army for their magnificent work in the Drawdown of Iraq and its continued missions,” Casey said.
Casey also addressed service member concerns about the military budget, housing, future deployment cycles and the recent repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
This visit was just one of several visits for Casey and his wife Sheila during their holiday tours which includes stops in Alaska, Japan, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq and Germany.
