CAMP TAJI, Iraq – An Army first lieutenant deployed to Iraq received a certificate of appreciation from KBR contractors Jan. 28 for her efforts in coordinating a multi-day trip across Iraq for one of their program managers.
First Lt. Ashley Pringle worked with a KBR representative and several Army commands to coordinate the trip for retired Lt. Gen. John Cusick, the primary program manager for KBR’s LOGCAP III program. The program provides a wide variety of logistical support to the Army here.
The trip took Cusick to several project sites at U.S. bases in northern Iraq.
“It was a matter of coordinating rotary and fixed wing transportation between the locations, as well as getting him a waiver to travel there since he came within two miles of the border,” said Pringle. “In other words: a lot of work.”
Pringle, assigned to the Enhanced Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, received the certificate in a surprise ceremony in her unit’s headquarters building on Camp Taji. Despite her extra efforts for Cusick’s trip, the 24-year-old Sebago, Maine, native said she was not expecting any special recognition.
“I was totally surprised,” she said, “but it was nice to see that appreciation.”
