Oruzgan governor provides trees for local citizens, plans for future development
ORUZGAN, Afghanistan – Members of a coalition civil affairs team met with the Oruzgan provincial governor and other local officials March 7 to explore ideas for future development projects in the region.
During the meeting, Oruzgan officials highlighted priorities they have for community development, including widening roads and improving schools. Local officials said infrastructure development is key to improving the lives of local citizens.
After the meeting, the provincial governor handed out trees to local Afghan citizens to plant as part of a "tree and seed’"program aimed at making the province more verdant and green.
“Our partnerships in Oruzgan are very important to us,” said a local government official. “Together with our provincial government team, and coalition personnel, we have been able to make measured progress for our citizens.”
