Taliban kills ALP commander, kills and wounds children

URUZGAN, Afghanistan – An Afghan local police commander and child were savagely killed and two others were injured March 24, when Taliban insurgents opened fire on a mosque after evening prayers in Shahid-e-Hassas, a district of Uruzgan province.
Among the dead is a seven year-old boy, who was leaving the mosque with his family when Taliban members appeared on a motorcycle and fired on a crowd.
ALP members said an 18 year-old boy and a young girl were wounded in the incident. Coalition officials said the injured girl was airlifted to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.
