FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. - Fort Leonard Wood will host the annual gathering of Military Police connected with the U.S. Army from Sept. 13-23. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps Regiment.
In addition to gathering lessons learned in support of current operations and to prepare the future force, the MP Corps Regiment will observe the anniversary with events that motivate, celebrate, exchange knowledge and pay tribute.
The theme, “Three strands, one profession, Military Police Corps Regiment” symbolizes the three primary Military Occupational Specialties: 31B – Military Police, 31D – Criminal Investigations, and 31E – Corrections Specialist.
Brig. Gen. David Phillips, U.S. Army Military Police School commandant, said, “Just a decade ago, we were reeling from the attacks of 9/11.
“As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Military Police Corps Regiment, we can say that the MP Corps has made a significant difference in the past decade.
“Today, we are even stronger and more capable, and I look forward to the future and seeing what’s ahead.”
