CAMP LEATHERNECK, Helmand province, Afghanistan -- Army Maj. Gen. William E. Rapp, the 72nd Commandant of the Corps of Cadets, United States Military Academy, visited Camp Leatherneck, Sept. 12, 2011, in preparation for his upcoming appointment to deputy commander – support, U.S. Forces – Afghanistan.
Brig. Gen. Michael G. Dana, commanding general of 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward), accompanied Rapp as he toured multiple logistics lots around the base, to include the Intermediate Maintenance Activity, Marine Corps Logistics Command and Army Materiel Command lots.
The visit gave Marines and coalition forces the opportunity to showcase equipment and logistical capabilities utilized in support of International Security Assistance Force operations. Rapp is scheduled to assume duties as deputy commander – support, USFOR-A, in the coming weeks.
